2026-10-17 12:56:48

Perforated aluminum panel ceiling is one of the most mature and widely used types in the indoor ceiling system. It uses aluminum alloy as the base material, processed into ceiling panels through perforation, forming, surface treatment and other processes, and suspended under the building floor slab through the keel system. Compared with traditional gypsum board ceilings and mineral wool board ceilings, perforated aluminum panel ceilings have the advantages of fire and moisture resistance, light weight, high strength, convenient installation, easy maintenance, and strong decorativeness. At the same time, through perforation design, they can realize sound absorption, noise reduction, ventilation and heat dissipation functions, and are widely used in offices, shopping malls, stations, airports, hospitals, schools and other public buildings and commercial spaces. This article will comprehensively introduce the engineering application and construction technology of perforated aluminum panel ceilings from the aspects of ceiling types, system structure, construction technology and quality control.

Perforated aluminum panel ceilings can be divided into the following main types according to panel form and installation method. The first is grid ceiling (square panel ceiling): the aluminum plate is processed into standard square or rectangular modules and installed through exposed or concealed keel systems. Common specifications include 600×600mm, 600×1200mm, etc. The advantage of grid ceilings is convenient installation and disassembly, facilitating maintenance of equipment in the ceiling; the disadvantage is that panel joints are relatively obvious, and the overall sense is slightly poor. The second is strip ceiling (long strip panel ceiling): the aluminum plate is processed into long strip panels and installed through special keel snap-in method. The panel width is usually 50mm, 100mm, 150mm, etc., and the length can be customized according to space needs. The advantage of strip ceilings is strong line sense and good visual extension; the disadvantage is relatively inconvenient maintenance. The third is shaped ceiling (irregular panel ceiling): according to design requirements, the aluminum plate is processed into various irregular panels such as arc, broken line, wavy, etc., forming a ceiling shape with artistic sense. Shaped ceilings have high design freedom, but the processing and installation are difficult and the cost is relatively high. The fourth is grid grille ceiling: the aluminum plate is processed into strip or grille shape and suspended in a grid pattern on the ceiling keel, forming a transparent and open ceiling effect. Grid ceilings are usually used in spaces with high floor heights, such as shopping malls, stations, etc., where a closed ceiling is not needed but decorative effect is required. The fifth is baffle ceiling: aluminum baffles are vertically suspended on the keel, forming a curtain-like ceiling effect with a strong sense of lines and rhythm. Different types of perforated aluminum panel ceilings have their own applicable scenarios and aesthetic characteristics. During design, the appropriate ceiling form should be selected according to the space's functional requirements, floor height, and style positioning.

The basic structure of the perforated aluminum panel ceiling system, from bottom to top (from the viewing surface to the floor slab), usually includes the following layers. The first layer is the ceiling panel, namely the perforated aluminum panel, which is the exterior surface of the entire ceiling, fixed on the keel in various ways. The second layer is the keel system, divided into main keels and cross keels (or load-bearing keels and surface keels). The main keel is suspended from the building floor slab through hangers, mainly bearing the self-weight load of the ceiling; the cross keel is fixed on the main keel through hanging connectors, mainly used to fix the panels. The keel usually adopts galvanized steel plate or aluminum alloy profiles, and the appropriate section is selected according to the ceiling weight and span. The third layer is the hanger system, composed of hanger rods, hangers and expansion bolts, connecting the main keel to the building floor slab. The hanger rod usually adopts φ8 or φ10 galvanized screw, and the spacing is determined according to the ceiling load calculation, generally not exceeding 1200mm. The fourth layer is the space above the ceiling, namely the space between the building structural floor slab and the ceiling. This space usually contains air conditioning ducts, fire protection pipes, electrical pipelines, sprinkler heads, smoke detectors and other electromechanical equipment. An important advantage of perforated aluminum panel ceilings is that they can be integrated with these electromechanical devices, integrating lamps, air conditioning vents, fire protection facilities, etc. into the ceiling system, making the ceiling both beautiful and practical. For sound-absorbing perforated aluminum panel ceilings, sound-absorbing cotton is also laid above the panel, usually centrifugal glass wool or rock wool, about 50mm thick, with a density of 32-48kg/m³, to enhance the sound absorption effect.

The construction process flow of perforated aluminum panel ceilings usually includes the following steps. The first step is construction preparation: familiarize with construction drawings, conduct on-site measurement and setting out, check whether the ceiling elevation, shape, lamp position, etc. are consistent with the actual site; prepare materials and tools, and check whether the specifications and quality of panels and keels meet the requirements. The second step is marking and positioning: according to the design elevation, mark the horizontal elevation line of the ceiling on the wall and column surfaces; according to the ceiling layout drawing, mark the position line of the hanger rod and the arrangement line of the main keel on the floor slab. Marking is a key process to ensure ceiling flatness and layout accuracy, and must be precise. The third step is installing hangers: according to the marked hanger position line, drill holes in the floor slab to install expansion bolts, and connect the hanger rods to the expansion bolts. The hanger rods should be installed vertically, and the spacing should meet the design requirements. The fourth step is installing main keels: connect the main keels to the hanger rods through hangers, and adjust the elevation and flatness of the main keels. When splicing main keels, special connectors should be used, and the joints of adjacent main keels should be staggered. The fifth step is installing cross keels: fix the cross keels on the main keels through hanging connectors. The spacing of cross keels is determined according to the panel specifications, ensuring that the panels can be reliably installed. The sixth step is installing panels: install the perforated aluminum panels piece by piece on the cross keels according to the layout drawing. Grid panels are usually fixed by snap-in or screws; strip panels are fixed by special keel clips; irregular panels need to be installed according to specific node design. When installing panels, attention should be paid to protecting the panel surface to avoid scratches and deformation. The seventh step is installation finishing: install terminal equipment such as lamps, air vents, fire protection facilities, handle details such as panel joints and edge trim strips, and finally clean the panel surface. During the entire construction process, each completed process should be inspected and accepted to ensure construction quality.

The main quality control points in perforated aluminum panel ceiling construction include the following aspects. The first is ceiling flatness: the flatness of the ceiling directly affects the final decorative effect. During construction, it should be ensured through precise elevation line control and keel leveling. Large-area ceilings should be cambered according to code requirements, with a camber height generally 1/1000-3/1000 of the short span of the room, to offset the deflection caused by the ceiling's self-weight. The second is layout aesthetics: the layout of ceiling panels should be symmetrical and uniform, avoiding narrow strips less than half a panel in prominent positions. The positions of lamps, air vents, smoke detectors and other equipment should be coordinated and aligned with ceiling panel joints, forming a regular visual effect. The third is panel joint quality: panel joints should be straight, uniform, and consistent in width. Exposed keel ceilings should have uniform and beautiful joints; concealed keel ceilings should have tight and uniform joints, without obvious misalignment. The fourth is equipment installation coordination: electromechanical equipment in the ceiling must be installed and accepted before closing the panels, avoiding drilling and punching after panel closure. Lamps, air vents, access panels, etc. should be coordinated with ceiling panels, with reasonable and beautiful positions. The fifth is sound-absorbing cotton laying: for sound-absorbing ceilings, the sound-absorbing cotton should be laid evenly and flatly, with consistent thickness, without shedding or bridging. The specification, density and thickness of sound-absorbing cotton should meet design requirements. The sixth is product protection: during transportation, storage and installation, aluminum panels should be protected from scratches, deformation and contamination. After installation, product protection should be done to prevent subsequent construction from contaminating or damaging the ceiling. The seventh is safe construction: ceiling construction is high-altitude operation, and stable scaffolding or mobile platforms should be set up, and construction personnel should wear safety belts. Hangers and keels must be installed firmly to ensure that the ceiling does not fall off.

The application effects of perforated aluminum panel ceilings in various architectural spaces have their own characteristics. In office spaces, perforated aluminum sound-absorbing ceilings with glass wool is the most commonly used ceiling form, which can effectively reduce the reverberation time of offices, improve the office acoustic environment and improve work efficiency. In commercial spaces, perforated aluminum panel ceilings can match various lighting designs to create commercial spaces with rich layering and atmosphere. In transportation hubs (airports, stations, subway stations), the sound absorption and noise reduction function of perforated aluminum panel ceilings is particularly important, which can effectively reduce the noisy noise generated by large crowds and improve passengers' travel experience. In medical spaces, the dust-proof, easy-to-clean and anti-bacterial properties of perforated aluminum panel ceilings make them ideal choices for clean spaces such as operating rooms and wards. In educational spaces, the sound absorption effect of perforated aluminum panel ceilings can effectively improve speech clarity in classrooms and improve teaching quality. In short, with its excellent comprehensive performance, perforated aluminum panel ceiling has become one of the mainstream choices for modern architectural indoor ceilings. With the continuous improvement of processing technology and design level, perforated aluminum panel ceilings will exert their decorative and functional value in more spaces, creating more beautiful, comfortable and healthy indoor environments for people.
